Rob Ranko - October Featured Fly Tyer @ Bar Flies.
Topic: Rob will teach you to tie two of his steelhead patterns.
Rob’s bio: Rob started fly fishing in 2014, but he grew up fishing streams and farm ponds.
He loves targeting any species but my true passion is smallmouth bass.
Rob has been with Orvis since 2019 as the Fishing Manager at the Pittsburgh store at The Galleria. Rob says he "Truly love passing on the little bit of knowledge I’ve gained to others getting into it."
He loves the teaching aspect.
Rob will teach you to tie one of his streamer and egg patterns for steelhead as well as give insight on tying with new materials and how to fish these flies.
PWWTU will supply all of the materials for the fly.
White and Orange 6/0 (140) thread will be needed.
We should have a few extra tools and materials for those interested in starting (or continuing) to tie flies, so just show up and learn from the group!
