Alaskan Journey: From River to Idea to Novel
By Christian A. Shane
Biography: Christian Shane, a Middle School Science teacher in Pittsburgh, PA, is also an avid fly fisherman, fly tier, and outdoor writer. His writing has been featured in PA Angler & Boater Magazine, The Drake, Fly Culture, Montana Fly Fishing Magazine, PA Outdoor News, and Kype Magazine. For over 30 years, he has enjoyed teaching grades second through seventh. He's also an active member of both Allison Park Sportsman's Club (ASPC) and Penn's Woods West Trout Unlimited (PWWTU) as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writer's Association (POWA).
Christian began writing his debut novel, Salmon Survivor , in 2008. Fascinated by Alaska and all it had to offer those who loved the outdoors, wildlife, and culture, he made many trips back to the Kenai Peninsula to visit friends and fly fish for salmon and trout. Still, catching all five salmon species in ONE summer eludes him, and Christian hopes to catch the Salmon Slam sometime soon!

Great job by our presenters Chrisitan and Ryan. Ryan updated us on new hunting regulations.

Still awaiting word of why the North Park stocking was cancelled and on a revised date.

The Club Christmas Party is going to be held at the firehall instead of at Nox on 8. They simply don't have sufficient space for us but will cater the event.

We need a headcount for the Christmas party. Be on the look out for an email from Eric.

I showed the membership a new piece of functionality for the website. This enables me to post the full slide presentation for our speakers on the site. You can see examples of this for our September & November meetings on their page.

Christmas Party door prize donations are welcome but not required. Rich mentioned bringing a dessert as another option.
