The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy is seeking volunteers for some work at their newly acquired land along French Creek. Knowing that some of you fish the creek I thought this might be of interest. Unfortunately I will be out of town. If you do go take some photos and send them to me to post on the site.
Land Stewardship at new WPC Preserve on French Creek, Venango Co.
July 20, 20249:00 am
Location
Venango County
Activities: Clean-up, trail development
Join us as we break trail at a brand new WPC preserve that borders French Creek in Venango County! Help create a safe trail for nature enthusiasts to hike, walk and observe wildlife, and clean up debris. Please note this is physical work. Location and directions will be provided as this information becomes available.
If you enjoy hiking and getting outdoors, consider becoming a land stewardship volunteer. These volunteers help build trails, keep nature preserves clean and safe, and help sustain a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for all! The Conservancy owns and cares for more than 14,000 acres of land that are free and open to the public to explore and enjoy.
For additional information and to register, please contact Andrew Zadnik, director of land stewardship, at azadnik@paconserve.org or 412-586-2318 (office). Unless otherwise noted, volunteers and staff are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at the property, rain or shine.
If a workday is cancelled, a message will be sent immediately to the land steward email list (the website may not be updated for a day or so).
Thanks to Sandra for sharing this info with us. Do you have something to share? It's easy! Just send me an email telling the story behind your post and if you have a couple of photos include them in your email. You can reach me at StephenCPlut@Gmail.com
