Fishing Deer Creek Lake from Jim

stephencplut

The bottom lake at Deer Lakes Park was infested with sea weed, this past summer. While at this point, it was almost unfishable. Trout was stocked on Oct. 22, 2022.

I was wondering how the trout would survive. On January 11, 2023, I decided to go fishing. Most of the bottom lake had a light coating of ice. So I decided to fish around the aerator, where I could land a fish on the bank. To my great surprise, I caught eight-trout within an hour and a half! I started with two- poles fishing with a bobber, using Russellton earth worms. I had to use one pole because there was so much action.

The fish were beautiful and healthy! I think the water quality is excellent.

Happy fishing & have a great day,

Jim M.
